0003374: Huawei K3765 - Install USB_ModeSwitch in Endian Firewall 2.4.1
I try to install USB_ModeSwitch package: a mode switching tool for controlling "flip flop" (multiple device) USB gear.
It's a useful application for the operation of many usb-key UMTS/HSDPA.
(look project - http://www.draisberghof.de/usb_modeswitch/ [^] )
In my case I'm trying to run the modem UMTS/HSDPA Huawei K3765, because Endian(2.6.32.25-57.e40.i586) recognised it as a data-disk.
(look an example - http://leo.gaggl.com/2010/05/huawei-k3765-on-ubuntu-10-04-lucid/ [^] ).

I try to install the devel-rpm but I can't find some rpm to complete the dependencies, in particular I need:

libBrokenLocale.so.1 is needed by glibc-devel-2.3.4-2.41.endian8.i386
libanl.so.1 is needed by glibc-devel-2.3.4-2.41.endian8.i386
libnss_hesiod.so.2 is needed by glibc-devel-2.3.4-2.41.endian8.i386
libnss_nis.so.2 is needed by glibc-devel-2.3.4-2.41.endian8.i386
libnss_nisplus.so.2 is needed by glibc-devel-2.3.4-2.41.endian8.i386

glibc-devel >= 2.2.90-12 is needed by gcc4-4.1.2-14.endian1.i586

and I think

kernel-devel__________________

Where can I download these packages?

Thanks,
pamukk

good news!
we tried the USB_ModeSwitch and it worked!!

We will build soon an endian package to extend the umts modem compatibility!

Until that time you can use this binary:
http://www.ipadd.de/download/v14/usb_modeswitch097.tar.gz [^]

and pick the right message to send from this file:
http://www.draisberghof.de/usb_modeswitch/usb-modeswitch-data-20101222.tar.bz2 [^]

Actually the USB_ModeSwitch binary is too old to be fully compatible with usb-modeswitch-data-20101222 but if you manually use the command it works.

We tried with the model Huawei E1820

Before running the usb_modeswitch this was the lsusb output:
Bus 001 Device 008: ID 12d1:1446 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. E1552 (HSPA modem)

then we ran:
usb_modeswitch -v 12d1 -p 1446 -W -M 55534243123456780000000000000011062000000100000000000000000000

And the /dev/ttyUSB* appeared and this is the new lsusb output:
Bus 001 Device 009: ID 12d1:14ac Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.

custom udev rule to let the Huawei E1820 works

root@kenny:/etc/udev/rules.d # cat 98-usb_modeswitch.rules
ATTRS{idVendor}=="12d1", ATTRS{idProduct}=="1446", RUN+="/usr/sbin/usb_modeswitch -v 12d1 -p 1446 -W -M 55534243123456780000000000000011062000000100000000000000000000"
