Summary0000995: Squid will not start Lastest update the machine got from the endian network bungled squid.conf
DescriptionAfter forcing an upgrade from the endian network site, squid no longer starts.
I have compared the /var/efw/proxy directories with another machine that was last updated 4 days ago. No difference aside from what one would expect from two different machines.

Output from /var/log/squid.out

squid: ERROR: No running copy
2008/06/24 17:01:53| ACL name 'default_safe_ports' not defined!
FATAL: Bungled squid.conf line 138: http_access deny !default_safe_ports !default_ssl_ports
Squid Cache (Version 2.6.STABLE18): Terminated abnormally.
2008/06/24 17:02:15| ACL name 'default_safe_ports' not defined!
FATAL: Bungled squid.conf line 138: http_access deny !default_safe_ports !default_ssl_ports
Squid Cache (Version 2.6.STABLE18): Terminated abnormally.

Unfortunatly reverting to the squid.conf from the other box causes other access issues.

Additional InformationI will update Reproducibility latter on today, when the client goes home.

It appears the problem was related to an installation that the used restore backup option.
Once the system was updated squid started normally.

The backup was taken from a fully upgraded machine, and applied to a base installation.
